They have actually become pretty big, I was looking at a Metal Hammer issue and they got an interview. I think it was Metal Hammer, and that's UK based, and it gets published all over the world, so it's not that surprising when you think about it.
Onto the band itself. Don't like em.

Great for an Australian band? They sound like every metalcore band ever, imo. Australian metal is really underrated, Australian metalcore far too overrated. I suggest everyone check out Australian metal/rock bands Ne Obliviscaris, Sleepmakeswaves and Be'lakor.
But..This is the Parkway Drive thread so I guess I should state my opinion on the band: I don't like them.

Metal Hammer isn't published worldwide. It's shipped here in the States and an issue ends up costing like $11. Which is bullshit because the magazine usually sucks most of the time. Parkway Drive isn't that big. It isn't hard to get an interview in a magazine. They've been touring a lot and that's bound to get some reporter to want to get an interview with them. They were touring with bands like Stick To Your Guns, Winds Of Plague, Darkest Hour and After The Burial.
I enjoy Parkway Drive, but the only album I have is "Killing With A Smile". I've meant to download more, but they aren't a band I really listen to a lot of. Certain bands always have this groove or characteristic that always makes them enjoyable to listen to. Parkway Drive, for me, is more of a shuffle band. When they come up I'm pleasantly surprised and usually end up enjoying the track. They have some pretty commercialized breakdowns, but I think that's what I love about them.

It's not published worldwide, but most countries end up getting it. It's shipped here, and cost 13 bucks for one issue, which I was pretty pissed at. But Classic Rock magazine (from the UK) is 17 bucks, so it's not that bad. I didn't mean that they were massively big, just moreso the fact that someone in Sweden knows about them because they're getting exposure.
