Slash Finds Solo Album Cathartic Empty Slash Finds Solo Album Cathartic

Post by Sykesy Tue Sep 30, 2008 4:49 pm

Slash found recording his solo album "cathartic".

The Guns N' Roses and Velvet Revolver rocker has taken time out from the bands to head into the studio alone and says he is loving the experience.

He said: "I'm totally on my own. A buddy of mine has got a mini-studio in his house and we stay until two or three in the morning just recording the basic demos.

"I'm used to a band situation where I'm one fifth of the input no matter who brought the song or whatever it is. Every band I've ever been in we all just sort of tear it apart, put it back together, and it comes out however it comes out.

"This is interesting for me because I'm just doing my thing and I have no one to answer to."

Although he is currently working alone, the guitarist eventually plans to bring in a different singer for each song - but refuses to say who he wants to guest on the record.

He added to America's Rolling Stone website: "There's a wish list and so far I've managed to get pretty much everybody on that wish list to commit.

"At the pace the Velvet singer search is going I'll probably get this done before then."

Velvet Revolver are currently looking for a new frontman following the departure of Scott Weiland.

Thanks for the report to Stv.tv.
