Black Sabbath

Whether you like them or not, they're the founders of heavy metal. I have SOOO much respect for these guys, it's incredible. They created my favorite genre of music. Without them, who knows what kind of music I'd be listening to nowadays. Although I usually don't find myself listening to them, I still have utmost respect for them. "Master of Reality" is my favorite album and "Black Sabbath" is my favorite song. Just thinking about that song gives me chills. I couldn't imagine hearing it in 1970.

Actually the founders are Led Zepplien, Deep Purple and of course sabbath. But yes i do respect these guys alot. They have so many great hits but my favourite would have to be "Iron man". Also War pigs would have to come in at a close second.

But im not a fan of OZZY for some reason. i find him boring and strange!

Great band, legends, favorite album is the self titled.

they are one of my favorite bands of all time i love NIB and never say die and children of the grave and bloody sabbath

um no led zepplien and deep purple were not founders it was Sabbath ask anyone and they will say sabbath

Tomy Iommi actully created heavy metal...when he lost his parts of his fingers he had to find a new way to play the guitar....this new he had created set the background for heavy metal music

Hmm Intresting. Deep Purple Started in 67 Sabbath started in 69 and your going to tell me Sabbath were the only founders... Righttttttt! I never said they were not the founders but Zepplien and Purple were also the founders of metal. So Yeah!

Thats a matter of opinion, and how the hell do led Zepplien suck. "Stairway To heaven", "Black Dog", Kashmir"...How the hell do they suck. there better then sabbath as well!

Black Sabbath contributed to metal MUCH more than Led Zeppelin or Deep Purple. Those bands were tiny marks in the history of heavy metal. LZ and DP were classic hard rock bands, nothing more. They definitely don't suck though

Yeah in todays genre they are hard rock. But back then they were considered metal. therefore they contributed to it

Still not sold. I can definitely see a big future of heavy metal if Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple never existed.

One song sticks out in my head when I think Black Sabbath "Iron Man".

Ohh ok so if Purple and zepplien didnt exist metal would of been much better. Do you know which "Heavy metal" artists Machine head looked up to....Deep Purple. Thats right they even called them heavy metal artists.

well stairway to heaven maybe but all the other songs arent good sabbath will blow zepplien out of the water any time any where

Is that a joke. Led Zepplien are considered the greatest band after The beatles. What have sabbath done better then zeppleien besides accomadating your prefered genre of music. Your basing your arguement on a an opinion which really will not account to anything. Led Zepplien shit all over sabbath in every way. jimmy page is one of the greatest guitarists ever but umm who is sabbaths guitarist.. Ohh thats right i forget.

First of you said elvis is the best. I was naming bands not solo performers. Secondly Machine Head named there whole band of one of Deep Purples albums.

Thirdly Do you even play guitar? How would you know?

About what I said before. I definitely didn't say metal would be better off without Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple. I just think that Black Sabbath had a WAY bigger influence on metal than LZ and DP.

Ohh sabbath were for sure ill give you that. Sabbath were very heavy for there day but they were not just by themselves in creating heavy metal. Purple and Zepplien did as well.Tony meh! his stuff isnt amazing IMO!

1. It's not just Elvis singing, he has a band backing him. And Elvis and The Beatles are always considered the two greatest bands ever, both are arguably it and it has been fought over many times

2. Err, so? Theres been countless covers and tribute albums of black sabbath, I am not denying Zeppelin's impact on the music community but you are denying Sabbath's.

3. Even though I don't play guitar I can still tell if a guitarist is talented then another... that argument makes no sense. I could claim to play guitar, how would that be?
