For me , its gotta be a tie between Eminem and Jay Z.
And sure Eminem did a few crap tracks on Encore but he proved he can hang with Jay Z when they did Renegade , Em destroyed him.
But those two are definately the best alive today , you can fuck if you think Lil Wayne is the number one guy in Hip Hop. He aint shit.

Jay-Z is the best rapper alive. Eminem is next and Snoop Dogg is third. You have to take into consideration commercial success and influence upon other rappers as well as actual songs. Jay is widely recognized as the best rapper alive and he has so many top quality tracks. The best actual rapper based just on skills is impossible to say because there are plenty of underground guys who can put out some awesome rhymes but have shit beats. Guys like Em and Jay have access to the best producers.

I think it might be Eminem. 50 Cent can be as good, but Eminem pumps out good song after good song.
